Suzanne Rheinstein*Hollyhock for Lee Jofa
Suzanne's latest fabric collection for Lee Jofa, Hollyhock II, has just arrived at the shop. Antique textiles from her personal collection inspired beautiful prints, weaves and embroideries. She found the original fabric document that inspired her distinctive and exotic Indian Zag Print in Delhi. Her Fantaisie Chinoise Print is an update of an original 18th century French silk brocade, found in tatters on a Louis XVI chair. Mimi Embroidery features a dramatic tree-of-life pattern based on English needlework, now embroidered in Kashmir. Along with the other patterned fabrics, they are a stylish, yet an understated way to add life to a room.
Refined silk, mohair, linen and cotton provide the perfect foundation for her fresh and understated interpretations of centuries-old designs. The color palette includes her signature blues, greens and neutrals from her first Lee Jofa fabric collection, in addition to soft grays, yellows and lavender that so many want to live with these days.
